Chilli in Hunan 4: Out Back

Even a place in China as small and with as much agriculture as Jiubujiang is increasingly looking urban. Small in China is all relative, after all. A true Hunan-person still needs their chilli, though, and one doesn’t always want to buy it on the market. Time to get creative, then.

Here, before we go out onto the fields next time, a case of chilli-concerned creativity that I found wonderful, right from – or actually, out back – the house of Xiaohe’s parents, which her grandparents now live in:
