Youxian is the city that Jiubujiang belongs to; it, in turn, is a part of Zhuzhou (administratively). Zhuzhou, finally is one of the ‘sister cities’ in central Hunan, together with Xiangtan and the provincial capital Changsha.
All a bit too much information given that our purpose is just to provide a bit of an insight into the markets of different places and the chilli to be found there. Then again, it helps explain why Jiubujiang only has such small markets whereas we are now looking at a big market hall for farmers from the surrounding area…
