Capsicum: Chile Peppers from South Asia

India is not only well-known for the pungency employed in some of its cuisines, with the Naga Jolokia it even harbors the world record holder in highest pungency of a chile pepper.

Interestingly, South Asia utilizes chile peppers not only in the kitchen, but apparently also for good luck (or more exactly, as a talisman to protect from bad luck).
