Capsicum: Chile Peppers from the Himalayas

We don't associate the Himalayas with the tropical areas in which the chile peppers are argued to be most important. Yet, they have their place, from the traditional Tibetan pharmacopoeia to their role as "magical ingredient" of the Bhutanese kitchen (according to Michael Palin in his journeys through these mountains).

Hardly anything is known about the varieties of chile peppers being cultivated there, however.
